Read the passage from the chapter entitled “A Vow to Bear” on page 351, beginning with the 2^nd pp, “The sun was falling…,” through page 354, the end of the 3^rd pp, “…it fell to the ground.”

Then, in a well-organized essay, give an analysis of how the passage conveys Inman’s dilemma and his reaction to it. You might consider setting, diction, imagery, and other figurative language in your analysis.
